Trhulj visited Slovenia, toured ELES company

Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Erdal Trhulj, during a two-day visit to the Republic of Slovenia, attended a lecture by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Karel Erjavec on the topic “Challenges of Slovenian and EU Foreign Policy in Times of Crisis“, organized by the International Institute for Middle Eastern and Balkan Studies (IFIMES), reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Minister Erjavec emphasized the need for further EU enlargement to other Western Balkan countries, and specifically announced an even greater engagement of Slovenia and EU institutions to help BiH in its accelerated accession to this association.

At the gala dinner organized in his honor, besides Minister Trhulj and Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister Erjavec, attendees included doyen of diplomacy and international relations Budimir Lončar, Minister in the Government of Kosovo Rasim Demiri, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of RS Petar Đokić, President of the Constitutional Court of Slovenia dr. Ernest Petrič, and CEOs of the largest Slovenian companies.

On the second day of his stay in Slovenia, Ministers Trhulj and Đokić visited the company ELES, the leading system operator of the Slovenian electricity system, which is responsible for Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The General Director of ELES, Aleksander Mervar, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation so far with colleagues from BiH and offered the experience of this operator for the needs of developing the transmission network in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry.
