Trebević Winter Fun with Sledding Attracts a Large Number of Sarajevo Citizens

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Trebević was filled with a cheerful atmosphere and beautiful sights today. In anticipation of the European Youth Olympic Festival EYOF 2019, the City of Sarajevo and the Public Company Sarajevo d.o.o., organized a big winter fun event at the Vidikovac plateau, held under the motto "Trebević is waking up, let's go sledding together".

The host of this event, Abdulah Skaka, expressed his satisfaction with the large turnout of his fellow citizens on Trebević, which is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for all generations:

"Our desire was to gather as many Sarajevans and all lovers of snow sports as possible, especially our youngest citizens for whom we have prepared a diverse program. With such events, we promote our Olympic mountains, awaken the Olympic spirit that lives in all of us, and encourage a healthy lifestyle," emphasized Skaka, and invited all attendees to the Opening Ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games on February 10th at 7 PM at the "Asim Ferhatović Hase" stadium.

Numerous children, along with their parents, enjoyed sledding on a groomed sledding track, snowball fights, and could try their hand at creative workshops and snow games, such as football, jump rope, target shooting, snow painting, tic-tac-toe, and hula hoop... The highlight of the fun was the downhill sledding races, filled with excited descents to the finish line.

Adults could enjoy the best environment for winter joys, in the fresh mountain air, relaxed in the knowledge that their children were having a great time.

During the fun, the little ones socialized with the popular mascots of the Sarajevo Olympics: Vučko and Groodvy. Laka, Mirela, and Tarik entertained the children and attendees with a rich musical program, notably performing the anthem of the widely popular Groodvy - "Za pravu raju" (For the real gang).

All those who decided to spend this Sunday on Trebević, after a cable car ride, could use sleds and other modern sledding equipment for free. Also, visitors to this winter fun event were served hot drinks, as well as one of their favorite treats – pancakes.

The joyful faces of children, with their cheers and laughter, will remain a hallmark of this unique snow event on Trebević today, which was immortalized by a group photo with Mayor Skaka, Vučko and Groodvy, as well as Laka, Mirela, and Tarik.
