(Patria) - After questioning the suspects, the acting prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office sent a request to the BiH Court for detention of the suspect Dejan Jurišić (1983), a police officer employed at the Prijedor Police Administration, who was arrested in an operation by the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Prijedor area.
Detention has been requested due to the risk that the suspect, if released, could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, and influence witnesses or accomplices. The suspect is under investigation due to a well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of organized crime under Article 250 of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with the criminal offense of extortion under Article 232 and the criminal offense of abuse of official position under Article 315 of the Criminal Code of RS.
As part of the investigative activities, information and evidence were collected indicating that the suspect, during 2021, as an authorized official of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, had information about the planned murder of the head of the Prijedor criminal police, Radenko Bašić, as well as about the individuals preparing the murder, and failed to report such information to the competent authorities. Instead of protecting citizens, he maintained contacts with criminal individuals and assisted in extorting money from citizens in the Prijedor area.
The request for detention has been sent to the BiH Court. The other two suspects arrested in the same operation gave detailed statements, evidence was collected and documented, and detention was not requested for them.
