A married man (54) and father of three hanged himself in the City of Youth in Zagreb's Dubrava. As HRT reports, it is a suicide due to debt bondage, i.e., a loan in Swiss francs, reports the Patria news agency.
These loans have metaphorically been called a "noose around the neck" for many Croatian citizens several times before, but the situation spiraled out of control for the 54-year-old, who left behind three children and a wife.
It took the police five days to find his body, and according to the information they have, the man died on June 12. The news of the suicide also disturbed members of the Franak association.
