Tragedy in Serbia: Cessna crashes, two pilots killed

Two people died today in Serbia when a sports plane crashed around 12:30 PM near the Ečka sports airport near Zrenjanin, reports Serbian Kurir.

Aviation portal Tango Six published findings from multiple sources that a Cessna 310 aircraft, flying for the flight school “Pegaz Pilot Academy” based in Belgrade, crashed.

- An instructor and a student from a private flight school died today in a plane crash that occurred near the Ečka airport near Zrenjanin, confirmed by the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Control.

The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Ečka airport. According to initial information, the task for the instructor and the student pilot was a routine single-engine failure exercise. For now, it is speculated that the crash occurred precisely due to the failure of one of the engines.

- At Ečka airport today around 1:00 PM, a Cessna plane crashed, confirmed the President of the Commission for Determining Serious Accidents in Civil Aviation, Zoran Petrović.

He said that the sports plane was on a training flight and that it carried a flight instructor and a student. Petrović stated that, according to initial information, this is a serious accident in civil aviation and that an expert commission has been dispatched to the scene.

According to his words, the Cessna aircraft was registered in the Hungarian civil aviation registry, while the pilot and student are Serbian nationals.

A sports plane also crashed in Serbia last October, killing businessman Tomislav Đorđević and his companion, NAP reports.
