(Patria) - Goalkeeper of Croatian club Radnik from Križevci, Karlo Sokač (19), suffered a severe traffic accident after New Year's celebrations. In his career, he played for Dinamo Zagreb and was on trial at Bayern Munich.
The talented goalkeeper was in a car that skidded off the road, suffering a severe spinal injury; both his legs and left arm had to be amputated.
According to Prigorski.hr, Karlo was heading with two friends from one New Year's party to another on New Year's Eve, ten minutes before midnight, when their BMW, with Bjelovar license plates, skidded off the road in Radnički Dol street due to excessive speed, entered a ditch, and hit a concrete pole at full speed.
