
(Patria) - After tornadoes hit several southeastern states, at least 34 people have been killed in the US.
Eight died in Kansas, and 55 cars were involved in traffic accidents, reports the BBC.
In seven states, including Michigan, Missouri and Illinois, more than 250,000 homes were left without power.
Governor Tate Reeves reported six deaths in Mississippi, as several tornadoes swept through the state. Flood warnings were also issued, and the National Weather Service (NWS) said they could be deadly.
Multiple tornado warnings were also issued across Alabama on Saturday evening.
Missouri's Emergency Management Agency said preliminary reports indicate that 19 tornadoes have so far hit 25 counties.
