Toplane Sarajevo: Alternative fuels are not a permanent solution for heat energy production

(Patria) - After "Energoinvest" commented on the gas price increase, stating that despite the agreements reached yesterday at a professional meeting by representatives of "Energoinvest", "Bh Gas", "Sarajevogas", and "Toplane", "Toplane" issued a statement.

They stated that their users were previously informed about the reduced supply of natural gas by "Energoinvest", and that they were forced to use alternative fuel for heating in some of their boiler plants.

- Representatives of "Energoinvest", who claim that KJKP "Toplane – Sarajevo" unnecessarily alarmed the public and that they want to shift the unpreparedness regarding the procurement of alternative fuel onto insufficient gas quantities, which is absolutely not true - "Toplane" stated.

- "Toplane – Sarajevo" uses natural gas as the primary fuel for heat energy production, due to more efficient plant operation and for generally known ecological reasons, and alternative fuels only in cases where natural gas supply is technically impossible. Since it is now the case that due to the ignorance and inability of the supplier to provide sufficient gas quantities in January, KJKP "Toplane – Sarajevo" is forced to heat using alternative fuels, so that users have a continuous supply of heat energy - they said. 

They reminded "Energoinvest" that alternative fuels are not a permanent solution for heat energy production in Sarajevo Canton, and for these reasons, gas quantities for Toplane's needs are planned annually in advance with the supplier, and not, as "Energoinvest" claims, to "avoid ordering additional gas quantities" by switching to alternative fuels.

- We hereby invite representatives of "Energoinvest" to visit "Toplane Sarajevo" to see for themselves how many boiler plants are heating with alternative fuels - they said.
