Bodies of deceased miners to be extracted today, ambulances at the mine entrance

In the Raspotočje mine shaft, rescuers have been locating the bodies of five unfortunate miners for almost the entire day, writes the Patria News Agency. As observed on site, ambulances have arrived in front of the shaft, and it is assumed that the bodies of the unfortunate will be brought out of the shaft very soon. In addition to ambulances, vehicles from the Zenica city cemetery have also arrived at the mine premises, and the extraction of the bodies of the deceased miners is expected.

According to Esad Čivić, director of the Zenica Brown Coal Mine, preparatory work in the shaft is proceeding according to plan, and during the afternoon, most likely during the second shift, the safe extraction of the miners' bodies will be enabled.

We remind you that five bodies of deceased miners, who did not survive the rock burst, were trapped in the shaft, after which 29 miners were trapped underground for 20 hours. Incidentally, as Patria has learned, all rescue teams remained on standby in Zenica yesterday, but it was not possible to reach the bodies of the unfortunate miners yesterday.

The rescue team descended into the shaft, and according to unofficial information, the extraction of the bodies is expected this afternoon. Unofficially, it is being said that several rock bursts have been recorded in the Raspotočje mine in recent days.

The families of the miners who remained in the shaft are asking the mine management and the union to provide them with details and specifics about the deaths of their loved ones, as well as information on when their bodies will be brought out.
