Tihić disappointed with Bosniak leaders after son's arrest: Neither Radončić nor Izetbegović called me!

RS MUP yesterday evening searched two locations in Skelani, one of which is a house owned by the commander of the Army of RBiH in Srebrenica, Daut Tihić, an SBB councilor in the Municipal Assembly of Srebrenica, and his son, born in 1982, was arrested, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Tihić told Patria, crying, that he was very upset by this search and his son's arrest, especially since special forces with long guns took him from his doorstep without an arrest warrant, and they were told that an anonymous report had been filed, even mentioning terrorism!

- They searched all my movable and immovable property looking for explosives, which they naturally didn't find, and they won't find them with me. I tell them, they won't drive me away from here. This is an attack on all prominent returnees in Podrinje. How can I leave when my son's bones are here, when 27 of my Tihić family members were killed in the genocide, whose bones I haven't all found – stated Tihić, who spent the entire night at the police station and hired a lawyer.

He explained that he has been under pressure from the RS authorities for a long time, and that the mayor of Srebrenica, Ćamil Duraković, offered him assistance in these difficult times.

- I am constantly in touch with him, and he is offering me all possible help. It is shameful that neither the president of SDA, Bakir Izetbegović, nor even the president of my party, SBB, Fahrudin Radončić, called me. I received a call from a friend from SDP.

When asked if the authorities from the Federation should protect returnees more strongly and decisively, who have been in a very difficult situation since Operation Ruben, Tihić said:

- Let them continue as they have been. We will continue to view the borders of BiH from the Drina, no matter what those from the Federation think or say – added Tihić.

His son, born in 1982, is a permanent resident of Stockholm, is married, and is currently in BiH to help his parents prepare for winter.

In a statement from the RS MUP, it was stated that the searches were carried out in order to find explosive devices.
