Teslić: Voter offered gifts before elections, police arrested him

Police officers of the Teslić police station conducted a criminal investigation of R. K. from the municipality of Teslić, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "Bribery in elections or voting", reports the Patria News Agency.

There is a basis for suspicion that the reported R. K. offered gifts to voters in the area of the municipality of Teslić in order to induce them to vote for a certain political party in the upcoming elections.

On 27/09/2016, the Teslić police station was informed that R. K., along with two other individuals, came to the house of two elderly women, to whom they delivered aid packages (food and hygiene products), instructing them to vote for the persons they proposed in the upcoming elections, after which R. K. took their identity cards, saying he would take them to the polling station on election day. On the same day, the Teslić police station was informed that R. K. had taken the identity card of an adult with special needs with the same intention, without the knowledge of his guardian.

The duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Doboj was informed about the above, by whose order the police officers of the Teslić Police Station conducted a criminal investigation of R. K. as a suspect on 29/09/2016.

In order to prove and document the criminal offense, several persons were interviewed as witnesses, while the confiscated aid packages, along with other material evidence, will serve in further criminal proceedings. The found identity cards were returned to the persons.

After documentation, a report on the committed criminal offense of "Bribery in elections or voting" will be submitted to the District Public Prosecutor's Office against R.K., N1 reports.
