NATO Commander's Serious Accusations: Putin and Assad Want to Destabilize Europe with Refugees

High-ranking NATO commander General Philip Breedlove has accused Putin of intentionally fueling the refugee crisis to flood Europe with refugees and destabilize the continent, writes the Daily Mail, reports the Patria News Agency. 

Breedlove said that the large number of Syrian refugees has a devastating effect on European countries, and all of this puts Russia in a better position.

Macedonia let through only 170 refugees during the past night, and thousands of them remained on the Greek side of the border. In recent days, thousands of refugees have been wandering through Greece, and the state is providing them with accommodation in football stadiums because there are not enough indoor spaces to accommodate them all. 

Breedlove accused Russia of helping Assad turn the refugee crisis into a weapon against the West. Breedlove, who is also the commander of the US European Command, claims that the refugee crisis has diverted the attention of European countries from other tasks. 

"The weapons used by Assad, as well as the indiscriminate bombing used by Russian forces. I don't see any other reason for this except to cause a crisis and for refugees to become someone else's problem," Breedlove said, writes Index.
