(Patria) - The Varaždin Police Department reported a serious traffic accident on Saturday morning around 5:40 AM on the A4 motorway towards Zagreb (62km +200m between Jarek Bisaški and Podvorec).
A serious accident occurred, with a bus bearing Polish license plates veering off the road.
“According to the information so far, multiple people have died in the accident, and a larger number are seriously injured,” the police stated.
At least 11 people died at the scene, and 34 people were injured, mostly with minor injuries, but these unofficial figures may not be final.
In addition to police officers, multiple emergency medical teams from the Varaždin County and Zagreb areas, as well as several firefighting units from both counties, are engaged at the scene.
