(Patria) - Iran has delivered an official response to Pakistan regarding the US proposal to end the war, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported today.
According to IRNA, the Iranian side in its response rejects the option of a temporary ceasefire and emphasizes the necessity of a permanent end to the conflict while strictly respecting Iranian interests.
Official Tehran has presented a series of demands in the document, including a complete cessation of hostilities in the region and the establishment of a special protocol for the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian response also lists the start of reconstruction of destroyed areas and the complete lifting of international sanctions as key conditions for reaching an agreement.
The US proposal was delivered to Iran through Pakistani intermediaries, and Iranian authorities emphasize that the stability of the region directly depends on the fulfillment of the stated security and economic prerequisites.
The diplomatic initiative followed reports of a two-stage plan proposed by Pakistan, which, according to Western media reports, envisioned an immediate ceasefire with a deadline of 15 to 20 days to reach a final agreement.
Concurrently, circles close to the White House considered a proposal for a 45-day ceasefire resulting from direct negotiations between the US and Iran.
Although Washington has confirmed the existence of these options, official Tehran has stated that it will not yield to pressure from imposed deadlines, nor will it open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for any temporary solution.
