Milan Tegeltija, President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reiterated to journalists the conclusion unanimously adopted today, which states that "the OSCE's request for access to war crimes case files of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, for the purpose of conducting an independent analysis, is in accordance with the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with the opinion of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of November 14, 2006", writes the Patria News Agency.
- The Council unanimously adopted the conclusion that the BiH Prosecutor's Office should act in accordance with its opinion and provide the OSCE with access to the files. The BiH Prosecutor's Office must comply with the HJPC's decision, and if this does not happen, the disciplinary prosecutor can react. We have an independent judiciary, but some decisions must be respected – Tegeltija emphasized.
Is this Tegeltija threatening the BiH Prosecutor's Office? Polemics regarding the scandalous decision of the HJPC are not ceasing, and many have stated that this decision has violated the sovereignty of BiH. Never before anywhere in the world have foreign nationals had the right to access investigations, stated the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
