Tegeltija: Budget could be on the agenda of the BiH Council of Ministers session tomorrow

(Patria) - Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Zoran Tegeltija believes that the Draft Budget of BiH institutions and international obligations of BiH for this year could be on the agenda of the BiH Council of Ministers session as early as Friday, in order to send it for further adoption procedure. The agenda of the session has not yet been published.

Tegeltija said on Wednesday that the conditions for budget adoption have been met after the BiH Fiscal Council adopted the Global Fiscal Framework for the period 2023-2025 on Monday, March 6, in the amount of 1,315,400,000 KM, of which 1,020,500,000 KM is from indirect taxes, i.e., levies from the Single Account of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH.

"If the members of the Council of Ministers are ready, the Draft Budget of BiH institutions and international obligations of BiH for this year can be adopted as early as Friday and sent to the BiH Presidency for further procedure, and then to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH," explained the Minister of Finance.

He said that there have been many discussions about this budget, especially about what the base for salaries should be.

"We were all aware that the budget framework for this year must be increased. There was a discussion about the amount by which the framework should be increased. What will open the discussion is whether more or less funds should be allocated to this or that position, but I want to say that the planned budget amount creates a sufficient framework for the smooth operation of all institutions at the BiH level. Also, the new budget will improve the material position of all employees in the institutions," Tegeltija emphasized.

The Trade Union of SIPA requested that the base for calculation be increased to 630 KM, but for now, there is no information that this will happen.
