Tariff payment for thermal energy consumption begins on August 1, 2016

The Government of Sarajevo Canton today adopted an amendment to the Decision on the amount of tariff rates, which establishes a new date for the application of calculation and invoicing of thermal energy supply for buildings without meters, and that is August 1, 2016, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- The planned date for the start of the application of the previously adopted tariff system, i.e., the new methodology for calculating supplied thermal energy, was January 1, 2016. At the proposal of the Ministry of Communal Economy and Infrastructure of KS, and due to the assessment that this redistribution would further burden users in the central heating system at this moment, the Government accepted the amendment according to which the application of such calculation will begin on August 1, 2016, i.e., a separate calculation of thermal energy consumption in the months of the heating season and those outside of it - it was announced.

As previously explained by KJKP Toplane Sarajevo, the tariff system will be based on the 7+5 principle, meaning users will pay a higher bill in the winter months (October-April) and a lower bill in the summer months (May-September).
