According to German media reports, the man drove his car through the north gate of the airport in Fuhlsbüttel on Saturday evening, where he allegedly fired shots and threw Molotov cocktails.
"The man broke through the barriers in a car without license plates and drove onto the runway. He fired two shots into the air and threw two Molotov cocktails," Mopo writes.
After that, he parked the car under one of the planes, and it is reported that his 4-year-old daughter is also in the car.
"Special forces surrounded the car, and negotiators were called in. The airport is currently completely closed to flights," they explained.
As emphasized, police have been in contact with the man since 11 PM, and at his request, negotiations are being conducted in Turkish.
"The man's wife also contacted the police and said that he had kidnapped their daughter. The background of the entire story is allegedly a custody dispute. Police have ruled out political motives for this situation," the Hamburg police stated.
