Tahirović asks HDZ ministers: When will the Ministry of Justice introduce ICTY judgments into Bosnia and Herzegovina's criminal-legal records?

(Patria) - When will the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina introduce the judgments of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) into the criminal-legal records of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a question that has been posed to the previous, as well as the newly appointed state Minister of Justice from the ranks of HDZ BiH by the president of the Association of Witnesses and Victims of Genocide, Murat Tahirović.

In an interview with the News Agency Patria (NAP), Tahirović also provided the answer to that question: "Apparently, never."

Our interlocutor believes that everything indicates that what was done by the "worst Minister of Justice of BiH, Josip Grubeša, is being continued by his party colleague Davor Bunoza".

- Despite the fact that the ICTY submitted all its judgments to the Ministry of Justice of BiH back in 2016, the Ministry has still not introduced them into the criminal-legal records of BiH judiciary. In this way, ministers, who are by rule from HDZ, continue the practice of disrespecting the judgments of international courts - says Tahirović.

He emphasizes that the former HDZ minister Josip Grubeša, "known for his remarkable dedication in helping convicted war criminals such as Marko Radić and Rade Garić, whom he enabled to go to Croatia and Serbia respectively ('read freedom, despite having more than half of their prison sentences to serve'), skillfully managed to manipulate various commissions so as not to introduce ICTY judgments into the records."

- The story is over for Josip Grubeša. Now there is another minister, but also many new ministers from whom we expect to finally conclude the story about the ICTY judgments - states Tahirović.

The current situation is simply sick, he continues, because for the most ordinary incitement or disturbance of public order and peace, you can find yourself in a position where you will not receive a certificate of no criminal record.

- On the other hand, a person convicted of rape, mass execution, concentration camps, and other acts punishable under international law can easily obtain a certificate of no criminal record in BiH and be a doorman, director, driver, janitor, and anything else they wish - concludes Tahirović in a statement to Patria.
