Joint BiH, Austria, and Germany operation against human trafficking started exactly at 6 PM

As announced tonight by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, the operation, which is simultaneously being conducted in Germany, Austria, and BiH, started exactly at 6 PM, and at the order of a prosecutor from the BiH Prosecutor's Office, in the fight against international human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution, reports the BiH news agency Patria. 

Dozens of SIPA members are active on the ground in BiH. This is a large international operation being conducted in several countries, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office has achieved significant cooperation with partner judicial and police agencies in Austria and Germany, whose representatives visited BiH in the past period within the framework of working meetings.

The operation is aimed at uncovering an international organized crime ring connected to human trafficking for prostitution and other criminal offenses. Among the victims are a significant number of individuals from the Balkan countries, including, according to operational data, minors.

This operation is the result of a long and thorough investigation by the judicial and police agencies of the Federal Republic of Germany, whose prosecutors and investigators have worked for months with colleagues from the EU to uncover this organized crime ring. 

The BiH Prosecutor's Office, together with partner agencies in BiH, the region, and EU countries, is making exceptional efforts to uncover and prosecute perpetrators of human trafficking offenses, as these are extremely dangerous criminal acts that leave a mark on the lives of a large number of victims. 

This and similar operations that will be carried out in the future will certainly help improve our country's international standing in the fight against this type of crime and in providing assistance to victims, as one of the key steps towards the rule of law and the protection of human rights of victims from socially vulnerable categories, according to the statement from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
