World Meteorological Organization: 2024 on track to be the hottest year in history

(Patria) - A graph of the deviation of average global temperature from the pre-industrial period shows that 2024 is on track to be the hottest year in recorded history, announced the World Meteorological Organization at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) taking place in Baku.

The global average air temperature from January to September was 1.54 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial average, fueled by the El Niño warming event, according to an analysis of six international datasets.

In its update on the state of the climate for 2024, the World Meteorological Organization is once again issuing a red alert on the speed of climate change within a generation, and, as they say, turbo-charging the atmosphere with ever-increasing levels of greenhouse gases.
