World Bank to prepare five-year support program for BiH

Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić spoke today with World Bank Director for the Western Balkans Ellen Goldstein and the head of the organization's office in Bosnia and Herzegovina Tatiana Proskuryakova, reports the Patria News Agency.

Regarding the Reform Agenda, the Prime Minister stated that out of 48 tasks undertaken by this document, the Government of the Federation of BiH has so far implemented eight, of which four have already passed parliamentary procedure.

He informed his guests, among other things, about the project of stimulating first employment, which primarily relates to young people. This will be done by exempting employers in the private sector from paying contributions for newly employed individuals in the first year. In doing so, the employer will be obliged to ensure that the employment relationship of the newly employed person lasts for at least two years.

Ellen Goldstein highly positively assessed the progress achieved in the Federation of BiH in programming public investments and in managing public debt.

Speaking about the Labor Law, which Ellen Goldstein described as a huge step forward, Prime Minister Novalić said that this regulation, instead of protecting a small number of jobs, offers the possibility of creating a large number of new ones.

Highlighting the good cooperation with the BiH authorities, Goldstein said that the World Bank is beginning to prepare a five-year support program for BiH, it was announced from the Government of the FBiH.
