Swiss police raid HSBC: Who are the individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina who hold 4.3 million KM in this bank?

Swiss police are searching the offices of an HSBC bank branch in Geneva as part of an investigation into money laundering, reports the BBC, as carried by the Patria news agency.

Prosecutors said that the Swiss private bank HSBC, along with individuals whose identities they cannot disclose, is being investigated on suspicion of money laundering.

The investigation could be expanded to include people who participated in and assisted the defendants in money laundering, officials stated in a press release.

-A search of the bank's offices is currently underway, led by state prosecutor Olivier Jornot and prosecutor Yves Bertossa, said officials from the Geneva prosecutor's office, as reported by Reuters.

The prosecutor's office said the investigation was prompted by "recent public revelations."

Recall, a team of journalists from 45 countries uncovered secret bank accounts maintained for criminals, smugglers, politicians, celebrities, and all those who wanted to avoid paying taxes.

The secret documents showed how the global banking giant HSBC profited and earned money by doing business with arms dealers who sent mines to child soldiers in Africa, with intermediaries of dictators from Third World countries, and with smugglers of blood "diamonds." The accounts exposed in the Swiss Leaks affair held more than one hundred billion dollars.

Seven individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, or of origin from our country, conducted business with the Swiss branch of HSBC bank. Of the secret bank accounts containing nearly 100 billion dollars, 4.3 million belongs to individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina or those in any way connected to our country.
