(Patria) - Switzerland is not only an attractive destination for tourists, but also a real magnet for all those who want to earn well.
According to a Ringover study, Switzerland has the highest average salary in the world, amounting to 131,416 US dollars per capita, or about 115,000 euros annually.
It turns out that the average salary in Switzerland is 100.1 percent higher than the global average, reports Punkufer.
Ringover's analysis included 40 countries with the highest gross domestic product in the world.
Salaries in 30 professions in the most sought-after sectors, such as healthcare, education, finance, information technology, and business, were taken into account.
Out of a total of 30 professions, Switzerland is not the leader in salary in only three cases - doctors, salespeople, and physiotherapists.
In these fields, American doctors ($288,440 annually) and physiotherapists ($104,521) have the highest average salaries, while Britons have the highest-paid sales representatives ($119,671).
The high average salaries in Switzerland are linked to the country's political stability, strong economy, high level of education, and low unemployment rate.
However, it should also be noted that a high standard of living comes with high living costs.
Adults spend an average of 3,000 to 5,000 Swiss francs per month, or 3,200 to 5,350 euros for housing, utilities, food, and transportation.
In second place on the list of countries with the highest average salary is Luxembourg. This Western European monarchy may be small in area, but its inhabitants' salaries are considerable. The average annual salary in Luxembourg is $108,672, or about 95,000 euros.
In third place are the United States, which have an average annual salary of $105,482, or about 92,500 euros.
The list of the top ten countries with the highest salaries mostly includes countries from Europe. Apart from Switzerland and Luxembourg, among the highest-paid residents in the world are Danes, Icelanders, Belgians, Britons, and Germans.
