(Patria) - Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said on Wednesday after meeting with US President Joe Biden that the two leaders agreed that the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius is a "natural time" to finalize the Nordic country's bid to join the alliance, Reuters reported.
"We both understand that the NATO summit in Vilnius in seven days is a very natural time to finish this. But we both know that only Turkey can make Turkish decisions," Kristersson told reporters at the Swedish embassy in Washington.
Kristersson met with President Joseph Biden in Washington to confirm US support for Sweden's NATO application, which is conditioned by Turkey and Hungary.
