Sweden: Attackers in IKEA are Eritreans, motive unknown

Swedish police suspect two Eritreans of a double stabbing murder on Monday at IKEA in Vasteras, west of Stockholm, reports the Patria news agency.

At a press conference, local police representative Per Lgren and deputy prosecutor Eva Moren said the two suspects are Eritreans. They know each other well because they are housed in an asylum seeker center in Arboga, about 50 kilometers from the attack site.

The first suspect is 23 years old and was arrested shortly after the attack at a bus station.

"He denies the charges against him," Moren said.

The second is 35 years old and was found seriously injured at the scene. He was initially considered a victim, is in intensive care and cannot yet be interrogated.

"His condition was stable during the night, but still critical," a hospital source said.

The victims of the attack are a 28-year-old man and his 55-year-old mother. The motive for the attack is still unknown, reports Index.
