(Patria) - Hundreds of citizens walked the streets of the Swedish capital yesterday, waving Palestinian flags and carrying banners in protest against US President Donald Trump's plan to "take control" of Gaza.
In addition to Palestinian flags, flags of South Africa were seen during the gathering in Stockholm, as well as banners with messages of solidarity, including one that read "Jews for Justice and Peace".
On February 4, Trump stated that the US plans to "take control" of Gaza and relocate Palestinians to other locations as part of an "emergency reconstruction plan", which, according to him, could turn the enclave into the "Riviera of the Middle East".
His proposal has met with fierce condemnation from Palestinians, Arab countries, and numerous countries around the world, including Canada, France, Germany, and Great Britain.
Trump has repeatedly suggested that countries like Egypt and Jordan should accept Palestinians from Gaza, which Arab states and the Palestinian leadership have categorically rejected.
