Grand opening of the renovated Great Park on Monday: Another oasis of peace in Ilidža

(Patria) - The Municipality of Ilidža and JP Ilidža are finalizing the renovation works on the Great Park, which will be officially opened on Monday at 6 PM with a special program. This is one of the capital projects of the Municipality of Ilidža, and during Nermin Muzur's term, several parks have already been opened where residents of Ilidža, as well as numerous tourists, spend their time. During the summer season, it was hard to find a spot in the new park Emir Bogunić Čarli.

The Great Park, originally built during the Austro-Hungarian era, has been successfully revitalized and renovated after being completely neglected and left to decay in the period after the aggression.

The park, which covers nearly 50,000 square meters, is located at the very beginning of Velika aleja, and will be officially opened by the Mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, Nermin Muzur, and the Director of JP Ilidža, Jasmin Viteškić.

Last month, the Great Park received public lighting, and with its official opening, Canton Sarajevo will gain the largest park area arranged in this manner, with century-old trees.

"The Great Park, known to many as Kosturnica, stood neglected for more than 30 years, precisely since the beginning of the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina. I believe that with its revitalization, our fellow citizens will gain another adequate space for walking and relaxation," Mayor Muzur previously stated.

After the revitalization of the Stojčevac picnic area, the construction of the Čarli Sports and Recreation Center, and the renovation of the Central Square, returning the Great Park to the citizens is another important step towards building facilities that Ilidža has lacked in previous years.

The Great Park is envisioned as a peaceful green oasis, a place for walking and relaxation. The walkways are paved, and benches and trash cans have been installed.
