In the gallery space of Gazi Husrev-beg Hanikah, on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Stari Grad, an exhibition of handmade decorative and clothing items, jewelry, accessories, and household details was officially opened today.
The exhibition was jointly opened by the Mayor of the Municipality of Stari Grad, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, the head of the Cultural-Educational Center "Konya - Sarajevo", Nevresa Ahatović, and the representative of the twin Municipality of Selçuklu Konya, Ahmet Pekyatırmacı.
In her address, head Ahatović thanked Mayor Hadžibajrić and the Municipality of Stari Grad for all the support they provide, and especially the guests from the Republic of Turkey, with whom they have excellent cooperation and numerous plans for the future.
- The exhibition exhibits are the work of more than 500 participants of the Cultural-Educational Center "Konya - Sarajevo", which has been successfully operating for ten years and in whose workshops these wonderful things are created - said head Ahatović.
Mayor Hadžibajrić congratulated everyone on the Day of the Municipality of Stari Grad and expressed his satisfaction that the Municipality has been supporting such a project for years, and promised that it will continue to do so:
- I am especially happy that our twin Municipality of Selçuklu Konya has helped organize the exhibition, that they are here with us today, and I wish for your cooperation with them to deepen even further, because this is about an extremely advanced and rich municipality from the Republic of Turkey - said Hadžibajrić.
After the addresses, Mayor Hadžibajrić and Pekyatırmacı were presented with symbolic gifts as a token of gratitude. The exhibition will be open until May 13th, from 10 AM to 9 PM.
The Cultural-Educational Center "Konya-Sarajevo" operates in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the support of the Turkish city of Konya, TIKA, the Municipality of Selçuklu Konya, and the Municipality of Stari Grad. In the previous two years, this exhibition was held at the Balkan Mevlevi Research Center in Kovači, which was built with donor funds from the Municipality of Selçuklu-Konya.
