Increasingly Filling the Budget of the Federation of BiH: Number of Tourists in June Rose by as Much as 24 Percent

In June 2015, the Federation was visited by more than 75,000 tourists, which is about 24% more compared to June 2014.

According to data from the Federal Institute of Statistics, the share of domestic tourists is 22.5%, while the rest were foreign tourists, reports the Patria news agency.

The number of tourists who stayed in the Federation for more than one day, i.e., those who stayed overnight, also increased, with more than 148,000 such tourists, which is 24.3% more compared to June last year. Tourists most prefer hotels in the Federation of BiH, so if they decide to stay overnight, they most often sleep in hotels. As many as 93.4% of tourists used hotel accommodation.

In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were made by tourists from Italy (14.4%), Turkey (8.6%), Croatia (8.2%), Slovenia (7.7%), and Poland (7.0%), totaling 45.9%. Tourists from other countries accounted for 54.1% of overnight stays.
