All from the BiH Presidency: Allow citizens of the USA, Russia, China, and Turkey to enter BiH

(Patria) - The BiH Presidency took note of the Information on the situation in the area of migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina for May 2020 and considered the current situation regarding the migrant crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The BiH Presidency stated that the main goals of Bosnia and Herzegovina are to prevent the entry of illegal migrants into its territory and to reduce the current number of those residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The BiH Presidency once again requests the Council of Ministers of BiH to submit a comprehensive and detailed plan as soon as possible to resolve the migrant crisis.

The BiH Presidency supports the activities of the BiH Ministry of Security related to cooperation with the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Serbia and Montenegro in order to form a joint team for preventing illegal entry of migrants into BiH. The BiH Presidency requests the Council of Ministers of BiH to strengthen the personnel and material capacities of the BiH Border Police in order to protect the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and prevent illegal migration. The BiH Presidency supports the activities of the BiH Ministry of Security in harmonizing and coordinating the activities of security agencies and police forces in accordance with their competencies in protecting BiH's borders, maintaining public order and peace, and protecting the personal and property security of BiH citizens.

The BiH Presidency demands that the Council of Ministers of BiH expedite preparations for concluding readmission agreements with all countries from which migrants originate. The BiH Presidency requests the Council of Ministers of BiH and all institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina responsible for migration issues to relocate migrants outside of populated and urban areas into specially constructed facilities. The BiH Presidency requests the Council of Ministers of BiH to secure 5 million KM from budget reserves to strengthen capacities for managing the migrant crisis in BiH.

At today's session, the BiH Presidency adopted a conclusion tasking the Council of Ministers of BiH to give consent for the entry of citizens of the United States of America, Russia, China, and the Republic of Turkey into Bosnia and Herzegovina during the pandemic. The BiH Presidency today adopted a platform for the participation of the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the United Nations General Assembly for the period 2020/2021, including the general debate, which is scheduled to begin on September 22, 2020. Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented at the general debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly by the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Šefik Džaferović, by broadcasting his recorded statement in the UN General Assembly.

The BiH Presidency accepted the invitation for a visit by the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Šefik Džaferović, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan from October 21 to 22, 2020.
