Everything is ready for the sports and entertainment spectacle at Stojčevac

(Patria) - The sports and entertainment spectacle, which will open the renovated Stojčevac picnic area and the summer tourist season in Sarajevo Canton, will begin tomorrow (June 25) at 5 PM with the Stojčevac 5K charity run.

Funds collected from entry fees for the largest 5K race ever in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be forwarded to associations from the Ilidža municipality that work with children with developmental disabilities through their activities and projects, which was the clear wish of the Ilidža Municipality as the organizer, as well as the Public Institution Cultural, Sports and Recreation Center Ilidža and SRK Dami, as the technical organizers of the entire event.

Distribution of starter packs for participation began today and will last until 8 PM in the martial arts hall of the "Sabit Hadžić" Sports Hall.

- We started distributing starter packs today, and starter packs can also be picked up at the same location tomorrow between 9 AM and 12 PM, as well as at Stojčevac between 2 PM and 4 PM - said Haris Topalović, director of the Public Institution Cultural, Sports and Recreation Center Ilidža.

With the support of race friends, symbolic prizes have been secured, while the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton has issued a Decision on changing the traffic regime for the race, from 4 PM to 8 PM. The change in the traffic regime refers to giving priority to race participants over bicycle, pedestrian, motor, and other traffic during the passage of runners on the streets along the route Stojčevac - Jasike - Velika Aleja - Stojčevac.

- Since the beginning of this year, a lot of effort, work, and funds have been invested in the reconstruction of the popular picnic area, which, together with the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Transport, the Public Institution for Protected Areas of KS, the Directorate for Roads of KS, we wanted to restore its former glory. I am glad that the citizens of Ilidža and Sarajevo Canton, by visiting Stojčevac, have sent a clear message to all of us that we made the right decision when we started the renovation of the well-known picnic area - said the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur.

In the past period, all road communications at Stojčevac have been reconstructed, new public lighting has been installed, a large part of the overgrown green areas has been cleared and then arranged, benches, bins, tourist signage, and info boards have been installed, which is why the Mayor of Ilidža has appealed to everyone who will visit Stojčevac tomorrow and in the future.

- Everything is ready for the spectacle, but I would ask everyone who plans to grace this event with their presence tomorrow to respect the rules of the protected area, as well as the dedicated work of the people who were involved in arranging Stojčevac. It is the property and heritage of all of us - said Muzur, and added:

- Finally, I would like to suggest to everyone to park their cars in Ilidža and walk to Stojčevac to avoid potential traffic jams, but also to enjoy the unique atmosphere that Ilidža offers, as well as the concert by Hari Mata Hari.

A free concert by our regional music star is planned for 8 PM.
