Everything is ready for the "Ilidža 2018" Folk Music Festival

This year again, Ilidža will be a gathering place for nurturing traditional values through folk songs and customs. From July 18 to 22, the "Ilidža 2018" Folk Music Festival, the largest and most famous folk music festival in the region, dating back to the 1960s, will be held. The motto of this year's "Ilidža 2018" Folk Music Festival is love.

The Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Senaid Memić, emphasized that the Festival is something Ilidža should be proud of.

- It is important that the diaspora also responds well to what the Ilidža festival shows, because in this way we are fighting for a part of the people we have somewhat lost. These people are extremely proud of what we are doing, and those who live here and do not see the advantages, there is still time. We will continue to work and have the best intentions - added Mayor Memić.

This year, authors submitted 51 songs for the competition. The commission for selecting compositions, consisting of Prof. Amela Gadžo, Prof. Emir Mejremić, Hanka Paldum, Fahrudin Pecikoza, and Nedžad Imamović, selected 17 songs that will be presented on the competition night on July 19.

The performance order of the artists has been drawn. The first to perform will be artist Memnun Muzaferija with the song "My Bosnia, I'm Returning to You," and the 17th will be Semir Cerić Koke with the song "Taman."

Great musical names started their careers precisely on the stage of the Ilidža festival. The biggest hits were created here, and the greatest interpreters of sevdalinka began their brilliant careers, so this year's festival will also offer new musical creators and interpreters.

The participants of the revue program are Haris Džinović, Šerif Konjević, Enes Begović, Hanka Paldum, Elvira Rahić, Merima Njegomir, Sejo Pitić, Ivica Šarić, Subhija Šehović, Bahrija Hadžialić, Branka Sovrlić, Slađana Mandić...
