Total loans of commercial banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of the first half of 2015 amounted to nearly 17.17 billion KM, of which long-term loans were around 12.92 billion KM and short-term loans 4.25 billion KM.
Portal Profitiraj.ba writes that this is 1.8 percent more compared to June last year. The overall credit growth was contributed by loans to households, which account for more than 44 percent of total loans at commercial banks in BiH.
Economic experts warn that citizens in BiH often take out loans even when they don't need them, thus thoughtlessly entering into debts from which they later cannot escape, writes the news agency Patria.
Experts warn that a large number of citizens take loans to go on vacation to another country, to change furniture or a car. Bankers say that some people take loans simply to have money to spend on enjoyment that month.
