The exhibition "Making Peace" has been set up on the left bank of the Miljacka River in front of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo and will be officially opened tomorrow at 10:30 AM as part of the City of Sarajevo's commemorative program on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Sarajevo Assassination, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
Dozens of posters feature messages from world leaders such as Eleanor Roosevelt, American politician, Nelson Mandela, long-time President of South Africa, and scientist Albert Einstein.
One of the posters also displays a picture of Slobodan Milošević during his trial in The Hague, indicted for war crimes in Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia. The photograph was taken by Stephane Ruet.
This exhibition presents a holistic concept and invites everyone to participate in building "sustainable peace." The exhibition will be on display for the next eight weeks.
The exhibition was produced by the Nobel Peace Prize laureate – the International Peace Bureau (IPB).
"Making Peace" will be opened by the exhibition's ambassador in BiH - actress Vanesa Glođo, Mayor Ivo Komšić, Secretary General of IPB Colin Archer, Swiss Ambassador to BiH Andre Schaller, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to BiH Jurriaan Kraak, Advisor to the Mayor of Utrecht Hans Sakkers, and exhibition curator Ashley Woods.
The open-air photo exhibition has previously been displayed in Geneva, Stockholm, Utrecht, and Strasbourg, reports Patria.
