Verdict in retrial tomorrow: Memić case - justice is long overdue

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - I expect the gang and riffraff of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office, led by Dalida Burzić, Sead Kreštalica, and certain police officers, to be arrested. There is a lot of crime here, the investigation is ongoing, a lot has been done, said Muriz Memić, the father of the murdered Dženan, who has been waiting for justice for too long, after the closing arguments.

After the retrial in the Dženan Memić case was concluded at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, the verdict is scheduled to be announced tomorrow, January 13.
In this retrial, it was blatantly proven that the Prosecutor's Office had represented an unprovable, unbelievable, and impossible theory from the very beginning – the defense warned.

The lawyer for the Memić family, Ifet Feraget, also expressed his expectation of an acquittal.

“The drama of this case is that there is no evidence that a traffic accident occurred. Someone has squandered a huge amount of money here. And I believe Gordana Tadić, and I hope for a prompt call. This verdict is being awaited, although it should not be. This is the biggest scandal in the BiH judiciary, along with the David Dragičević case. If it is not resolved, we will all pack our bags together,” said Feraget.
Incidentally, on October 24, 2016, the trial of Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović for a traffic accident and obstruction of justice in the case of Dženan Memić's death began at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo.

It has not been clarified to this day how Memić died on the night of February 8, 2016.

In the first trial, Alisa Mutap, who was with Memić on the fateful night, appeared as a witness. After that testimony, and given that she continued to attend the trial and the Court rejected the request of the Memić family's lawyer, Ifet Feraget, to prevent her from attending as a witness, she could not be called as a defense witness. She soon stopped attending hearings.
We remind you that in the first-instance acquittal judgment of the Cantonal Court, it was stated that Alisa Mutap's testimony regarding the events after Dženan sustained injuries was “unconvincing and confused.”

“During the hearing of this witness, the Court gained the impression that the witness is not telling the whole truth, that she is concealing certain facts, that she is uncertain about what she is stating, the Court did not give credence to the witness's testimony, especially when it is considered in conjunction with other evidence presented,” it was stated in the verdict.
