Zvizdić-Dačić Meeting: BiH Determined to Fight Terrorism

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić spoke today with the OSCE delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Ivica Dačić, who is in BiH in his capacity as OSCE Chairman, reports the Patria News Agency.

Zvizdić informed Dačić about the current political situation in BiH. He specifically referred to yesterday's attack on the Police Station in Zvornik and said that BiH is determined to fight terrorism and has already adopted significant legislation on this issue.

He also stated that the Council of Ministers of BiH, at today's extraordinary session, adopted a series of conclusions expressing its commitment to fighting terrorism and organized crime. He also touched upon a new initiative by the European Union. He expressed satisfaction with the fact that one of our neighbors, the Republic of Serbia, is chairing the OSCE in 2015, and that BiH will take over the chairmanship of the Council of Europe in May this year.

He emphasized that he supports the priorities that the Republic of Serbia has during its OSCE chairmanship and listed the priorities that BiH will have during its chairmanship of the Council of Europe, expressing satisfaction that two Western Balkan countries will chair regional organizations of great importance.

OSCE Chairman Ivica Dačić congratulated him on his election as Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and said that good relations with BiH are extremely important for the Republic of Serbia. He stated that he advocates for the fastest possible entry of Serbia and BiH into the European Union and that he will continue to work on strengthening regional cooperation through regional projects in the future.

The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to strengthen the stability of both countries and that it is essential to improve the quality of intelligence and security data exchange at the regional level.

They also agreed on joint projects during the OSCE and Council of Europe chairmanships. Chairman Zvizdić invited Minister and Chairman Dačić to the ceremony of taking over the chairmanship of the Council of Europe in Brussels on May 19 this year.

The meeting was attended, among others, by the Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, Ambassador Jonathan Moore, it was announced from the Council of Ministers of BiH.
