MEETING OF TRUMP AND ERDOGAN: US and Turkey sign agreement to deepen partnership in nuclear energy

(Patria) - Turkey and the US signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday to deepen their partnership in the field of nuclear energy.

During President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to the White House, the two countries launched a process that will further deepen the deep-rooted and multidimensional partnership in nuclear energy, said Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

"We signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic civil nuclear cooperation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the presence of the leaders," the minister stated and added:

"I hope that the work to be carried out under the agreement will bring mutual benefit for both countries in the coming period."

US President Donald Trump praised the progress in relations during a two-hour meeting at the White House with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday.

Trump described the meeting as "very concrete on many different things, things that we wanted, things that he wanted, and it was good."
