Supervisor Welcomes Adoption of Key Financial Laws in Brčko District

The first Deputy High Representative and Brčko District Supervisor, Bruce G. Berton, praised the Government of Brčko District for today's adoption of the Law on Fiscal Systems, the Law on Accounting and Auditing, the Law on Foreign Exchange Operations, and the Law on Amendments to the Law on Payment Transactions, the OHR announced, reports the Patria News Agency.  

- These laws from the financial sector represent a key instrument for the authorities of Brčko District in terms of improving transparency, fighting the grey economy, and generating revenue beneficial for improving the services that the authorities provide to the citizens of the District. These laws also significantly contribute to the integration of Brčko District into the legal system of BiH, as well as to the implementation of measures that are significant for the entire BiH, such as the exchange of information on taxpayers between tax administrations in BiH, said Supervisor Bruce G. Berton.

The Supervisor thanked the Government of the District and the Directorate for Finance for their dedicated engagement on these issues and added that he expects the Assembly of the District to show the same level of engagement and support the proposed laws, according to the OHR statement.
