Sunrise made me a criminal for no reason!

The Bosnian news agency Patria received a letter from a reader, A.Č., who describes his bad experience with the Microcredit Foundation Sunrise, where he took out a loan in 2010 and repaid it properly in 2011. However, the story doesn't end there.

- When taking out the loan, I signed a promissory note and a contract, which remained with the foundation. Nothing controversial. However, last year I started receiving court rulings stating that I was allegedly a guarantor for a loan at this foundation for A.R. from Hadžići. Not only was I never a guarantor, but I don't even know the person – states A.Č. (full name known to the editorial office)

As he states in his letter, he thought it was some kind of mistake because his father's name was incorrectly entered, as was his place of residence.

- I tried to get in touch both by phone and in person at the foundation's premises in Ilidža, because the credit officer who approved this loan is employed at the Sunrise branch in Ilidža, and it's about H. J. Court bailiffs came to my home address several times, even though the house is not mine but my father's, they harassed not only me but my entire family, causing mental pain and distress to all of us – explains A.Č.

He says that in this way, the Sunrise MKF officer H.J. abused his position, using his promissory note.

- I suffered great moral damage, mental anguish, and I appeared as a criminal in front of my neighbors and relatives, even though I was innocent. I tried several times at the Sunrise branch to get an explanation of what happened and how they dared to misuse my papers and data, and falsely sign me up for a loan, using my previously given promissory note for a loan that I had repaid properly – states A.Č. and emphasizes that he had no property in his name.

- However, after more than a year of blackmail, threats, harassment of both me and my family, I was forced to report this case to the competent institutions. I tried by phone, but always without a response. Since I am building a facility and plan to get married soon, I tried to get a larger loan to solve my life issues, but then the bank, although they approved everything, told me that they couldn't until I resolved the situation with Sunrise, where I am listed as a guarantor in some F category – writes A.Č.

He also states that this is not the first case, and that there are numerous examples not only in Sarajevo but throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, where huge material damages have been inflicted on clients and guarantors, all with the help of courts that work for them and in their interest. 

- Only after I reported everything to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, the Prosecutor's Office, SIPA, the Banking Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and gave statements to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and fearing the consequences of bad publicity and criminal liability, did Sunrise react, they performed a forensic examination with a graphologist, and established that I did not sign that contract as a guarantor, and that my promissory note was submitted from my previous loan which I had repaid properly. It was sad that the Agency asked me to see the documentation for that loan so that they could take action. How could I provide it when I didn't sign anything. I am writing this because I know that this foundation has made life difficult for many, and that people are avoiding this foundation at all costs. Those responsible should be arrested, and Sunrise should be banned from further operation – states A.Č. in his letter, reports Patria.
