Clash between migrants in the Lipa camp near Bihać, one dead

(Patria) - In the temporary reception center Lipa, about fifteen kilometers from Bihać, a fight with a fatal outcome occurred last night.

One migrant succumbed to injuries sustained in that brawl at the Cantonal Hospital "Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić", while another was seriously injured.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) Ale Šiljdedić said that the Police Station in Bihać received a report from the team leader for security at the Lipa center from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies.

- Around 6:40 PM, it was reported that a physical conflict broke out between a group of migrants inside the Center itself, and that there were injured persons.

All available police forces were dispatched to the scene and the situation was quickly brought under control.

However, it was also determined that two persons were seriously injured, and they were immediately transported by ambulance to the Cantonal Hospital in Bihać - added Šiljdedić.

Later during the night, as he said, one of the injured persons succumbed to the injuries sustained.

- That foreign national sustained injuries to the chest area, inflicted with a cold weapon - a knife.

We received information that he had died around 10:30 PM last night. The other person sustained injuries to the arm and is not in life-threatening condition.

According to information gathered so far, it concerns a group of migrants from Syria, so it is assumed that these two individuals are also from the same country - stated Šiljdedić.
