Conflict of Interest: MP Semir Halilović Founded the Foundation 'Pravednost' and Took Money from the Budget!

The founders of the Foundation for the Protection of Historical Facts „Pravednost“ Sarajevo, which has so far received 400,000 KM from the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton, with an additional 200,000 KM planned for this year, are Semir Halilović, Medina Delalić, Nusret Halilović, Sead Gajević, and Smajo Halilović, the Patria agency has confirmed from the Ministry of Justice of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All of them are members of BPS-Sefer Halilović, and Semir Halilović is also the vice-president of BPS. The members of the Foundation's Board of Directors are: Semir Halilović, Nusret Halilović, Sead Gajević, Smajo Halilović. Medina Delalić is the director of the Foundation, and the Foundation's headquarters are at the same address as the BPS premises, Ćemaluša 6/II.

Given that Semir Halilović is also a representative in the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton and a founder of the Foundation that received money from the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton, this means he is in a conflict of interest. The Halilović family, through their ministers, brutally robbed the veterans and, profiting from their suffering, directed the money also for the campaign of Sefer Halilović for the BiH Presidency member in the General Elections in October 2014.

The Patria news agency has written in recent days about the crime committed through the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton and Minister Faid Hećo (BPS), who paid this Foundation 400,000 KM in 2013 and 2014, with an additional 200,000 KM for 2015 pending. This tranche was supposed to be signed by Minister Muharem Fišo (BPS), but everything was halted due to a parliamentary question in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly by Eldar Čomor (SDA) regarding the spending of these funds.

The money was allegedly intended for providing legal assistance in favor of suspects and accused former members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in war crimes cases for 2013 and 2014, but according to data we received from Minister Fišo, the money allocated for 2014 was least used for helping suspects.

- According to the reports submitted by the Foundation Pravednost, funds were allocated for 18 individuals in amounts ranging from 1,500 KM to 5,125 KM, as well as to legal teams for the defense of the accused in the Trusina and Igman cases, 10,000 KM. Refund of costs for expert analyses 73,000 KM. For the purchase of relevant documents for the „Silos“ case, i.e., the case of eight accused from Hadžići, 4,100 KM, while 16,000 KM was spent on the production of video materials.

According to the agreement signed for the costs of employees, the Foundation had a budget of 40,000 KM for each tranche they received.

Incidentally, there are indications that part of the money was used by Semir Halilović for the production of the film „How Herzegovina Was Betrayed“, through which, to the detriment of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Halilović manipulates the truth about the struggle for the liberation of BiH in order to shift the responsibility of his father Sefer for war crimes onto his superiors and subordinate comrades.

As we learn, the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton will soon launch an investigation into the connection with the malversations of the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton and the Foundation Pravednost and the allocation of 400,000 KM from the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton.
