Orić Trial: Witness Stanković confirmed that Milošević was killed by a single pistol bullet

At today's continuation of the trial of Nasir Orić and Sabahudin Muhić, Zoran Stanković, a forensic medicine expert who performed the autopsy on Milutin Milošević, testified and confirmed that only one projectile of 7.65 caliber ammunition was found in his body, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Witness Stanković, when asked by prosecutor Miroslav Janjić whether one or more projectiles were involved, stated that no traces of other projectiles were found.

When asked by Orić's defense attorney Lejla Čović whether it was pistol ammunition, the witness answered affirmatively. The attorney also asked whether the other wound on the body of the deceased Milošević occurred while he was alive or after death; the witness could not determine precisely and left open the possibility that it occurred after death.

Orić himself asked the witness several questions, requesting Stanković to state whether the gunshot wound could have occurred while Milošević was on a stretcher and that he sustained the other injury upon falling. The witness replied that it was possible.

This testimony debunked the claims of witness O1, who had alleged that Milošević was killed by a burst of gunfire.

Incidentally, Stanković, as he stated today, was also a defense witness in The Hague in the cases of Ratko Mladić, Vojislav Šešelj, Goran Lukić, and other war criminals. He also served as Minister of Defense of Serbia and Montenegro and Minister of Health. He lives and works in Serbia.

The trial was also attended by Šuhra Sinanović, president of the Association of Women of Podrinje, who stated that Stanković conducted exhumations of Bosniak victims in Bratunac, presenting them as Serbian victims, and based on those photographs, he also made a film. In Bratunac, 603 people were killed in 1992, and 2,081 in 1995.
