Fate of Hamid Ferhatović still unknown, ZDK Prosecutor's Office silent on why FUP was engaged late!

(Patria) The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton is handling a case related to the disappearance of a person with initials H.F. in the village of Čuništa, near Olovo, in which there are still no indications of a specific criminal offense having been committed.

This is the response of the ZDK Prosecutor's Office to the inquiry by the Patria Agency regarding the disappearance of Hamid Ferhatović.

We remind you that Ferhatović disappeared on May 30 and has been missing ever since. A multi-day search, in which BiH Armed Forces, GSS (Mountain Rescue Service), and locals participated alongside police officers, yielded no results. Only Hamid's axe was found, which the ZDK Prosecutor's Office sent to the FUP for expert examination, but they refused to answer our question about any potential results.

On the other hand, the ZDK Prosecutor's Office states: “Within the mentioned case, the FUP, by order of this Prosecutor's Office, is undertaking certain measures and actions to find the missing person.

The ZDK Prosecutor's Office did not wish to answer why the FUP was involved in the search and investigation more than 20 days after the disappearance.

We also contacted members of the family of the missing Ferhatović, who had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the Olovo Police Department and the ZDK Ministry of Internal Affairs.

They say they have not been informed of any new information, but they see progress in the investigation and appreciate that the FUP is doing a much better job.

We remind you that the family, due to certain events on the day of Hamid's disappearance and in the following days, suspected that a retired police commissioner and neighbor of the missing person knew more about the disappearance than he was saying, after which they reported him to the police.
