Bus from Serbia and car collide in Greece, four dead, over 50 injured

(Patria) - Four people have died and at least 53 have been injured in a serious traffic accident on the Athens-Thessaloniki road, involving a tourist bus with Serbian license plates that overturned, and two cars. Three occupants of the car died at the scene, while the fourth, who was seriously injured, succumbed to his injuries.

There were no fatalities on the bus, but there are seriously injured passengers. The owner of the Niš-based agency "Ski & Sun travel" stated that they have arranged two buses to take care of the passengers.

The traffic accident occurred this morning after five o'clock on the main road between Evzoni and Thessaloniki near the town of Polykastro. The double-decker bus of the tourist agency “Ski & Sun travel“ from Niš, carrying 78 passengers, collided with a car carrying four people.

At least 53 people were injured in the accident, including two children aged six and nine, Greek media report.

The bus and one car ended up in a ditch beside the road.

The bus departed from Belgrade this morning, and the passengers are from several towns in Vojvodina and central Serbia.
