Court orders pre-trial detention for all 13 arrested in Treska operation

The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo accepted the proposal of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton and ordered one-month pre-trial detention for all 13 individuals arrested in the "Treska" operation, who are suspected of the criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs and illegal possession of weapons, reports Patria agency.

- Pre-trial detention was ordered due to the fear that they might conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices while at liberty, as well as due to the danger of re-offending, confirmed Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.

Mirza Tantula was identified as the leader of the group, who, according to the Sarajevo Canton prosecutor, procured drugs and, with the help of other suspects, sold them in the Sarajevo area and beyond. Two women are among this group.

This group is suspected of intensively procuring and trafficking narcotic drugs in the Sarajevo Canton area from May 2017 onwards.

Members of the group were monitored for a certain period, and their mutual communication was wiretapped, based on which their activities were determined, leading to the arrest operation.
