Subašić: More than 500 perpetrators work in SIPA and police

Mothers of Srebrenica genocide victims demand from competent institutions to urgently dismiss Jovan Ilić, head of the War Crimes Department in the SIPA Regional Office in Tuzla, who is himself on the list of participants in the Srebrenica genocide in 1995, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

An expert team composed of experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the international community compiled a list of individuals known to have participated in crimes against the Bosniak population during July 1995 in Srebrenica several years ago.

And, more than 500 individuals from that list are currently employed in the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and in the police structures of BiH.

One of the participants in the Srebrenica genocide was Jovan Ilić, head of the War Crimes Department in the SIPA Regional Office in Tuzla. Ilić was born in Banovići, and during the aggression against BiH, he worked at the Public Security Center (CJB) Bijeljina, at a time when numerous crimes against the local Bosniak population were committed in Bijeljina and Janja. 

Munira Subašić, president of the Association "Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa," told Patria that she is not surprised that Ilić holds leading positions in SIPA, because, in addition to him, hundreds of other individuals who committed crimes in BiH now work in very important positions in the country.

- Gavrić Milisav, who took my son away in July 1995, was the police chief in Srebrenica until 1999. When I started pressuring him, he was removed from that position, but now he enjoys himself in Serbia – Subašić said, writes NAP.
