Subašić and Tahirović wrote to Gatti Santana: The convict must not be released from prison!

(Patria) - Associations of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association Movement "Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa sent a letter to the President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts, Graciela Gatti Santana, regarding war criminal Ratko Mladić. The letter is signed by Munira Subašić and Murat Tahirović.

"We were very disturbed by the information that appeared in the media that the convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić will be released due to allegedly deteriorating health. The entire process against the criminal Mladić before the ICTY and IRMCT was full of information about "deteriorating" health and requests from the Russian Federation and Serbia for Mladić's "temporary" release for the purpose of "treatment".

The whole world is aware and knows that the criminal Ratko Mladić would never return to international justice from Russia or Serbia if they were to release him.

We remind you that the criminal Mladić was brought to the ICTY detention unit from Serbia in a catastrophic health condition, and that expert international medical teams practically brought Mladić back to life. We are convinced that the international medical teams of the IRMCT are now capable and expert enough to face any health challenge. Therefore, we believe that the criminal Ratko Mladić should be urgently sent to serve his life sentence, and any attempt to release him should be thwarted.

It should be taken into account that the criminal Mladić has the highest world-class healthcare, better and more effective than any of his victims who are now begging you not to make a mistake and allow the criminal to try to manipulate again in order to avoid punishment and flee to the Russian Federation and Serbia, which are havens for war criminals.

We ask and call on you to thwart any attempt at manipulation by the war criminal, because it is his right, as well as ours, that he, Ratko Mladić, immediately begin serving his life sentence.

We send you support and express our respect, and we are convinced that you will do everything to ensure that law and justice are implemented and that any attempt at manipulation that is against the interests of truth and victims is prevented," the letter states.
