SK Sturm Graz President Kristijan Jauk commented on the death of Ivica Osim.
"Our coach of the century has just passed away on our club's birthday. Ivica Osim was not only a great coach but also one of the greatest people I have had the privilege to meet. He was the greatest icon of our club and I will never forget the many hours we spent together. He had an impact far beyond football and his words will remain with us forever. The Sturm family is losing one of the most important people we have ever walked among. My deepest condolences go to his wife, his two sons, and his entire family. Rest in peace Ivica!", wrote Jauk.
Austrian media report that the club's anniversary celebration has been cancelled.
Between 1994 and 2002, Osim managed Austrian Sturm, leading them to the championship title in 1998 and 1999, winning the Austrian Supercup in 1998 and 1999, and participating in the Champions League from 1998 to 2000.
