SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Elektroprivreda Herceg Bosne is running out of electricity. They are asking the FBiH Government to prohibit Elektroprivreda BiH from exporting surplus electricity produced in Tuzla and Kakanj, and to direct that electricity towards Elektroprivreda Herceg Bosne.
"It is necessary for the FBiH Government to urgently consider the newly emerged situation regarding the supply of electricity within the Federation of BiH, considering the extremely dry hydrology and extremely high temperatures that are announced, to make a decision that will guarantee the regular supply of electricity to all customers in the FBiH and the entire industry in FBiH," they state in the letter.
They are asking the FBiH Government to oblige Elektroprivreda BiH to sell all surplus electricity to them at a market price, or a price determined by the government. They are also requesting a 90-day payment deferral.
They also asked whether the FBiH Government and the FBiH Parliament, by their Decision on extending the operation of certain thermal blocks in Kakanj and Tuzla, provided additional energy only for consumers/customers of one part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina or for all consumers/customers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Since there is less and less energy on the market every day, we cannot even procure the necessary amount of electricity. For example, we note that we have received offers from various traders for the purchase of energy so far, and in the last 15 days we have been reduced to only 3 offers, and for the purchase of energy in the next three weeks, we have received an offer from only one trader/bidder," they emphasized.
